Groundbreaking at Anna's House
Saturday, August 13th, 2005
The Lordıs Pantry, run by Lucious Newsom, has been providing support and food for the poor in the Stringtown/Haughville area of Indianapolis from an empty field. In the winter, the group moves inside to an abandoned warehouse. Next year, no one will have to stand in the heat or guess where to go to receive assistance, The Lordıs Pantry broke ground on a new facility to help service the needs of the community.

The facility is designed to provide a place for the weekly distribution of food as well as a home for tutoring neighborhood children, a site for life skills training and job placement, a house for an after-school healthy snack program and a medical and dental clinic.

The new facility is being named Annaıs House after Anna Molloy. The Molloyıs have been helping Newsom hand out food for several years and have helped get other members of the construction community involved with the project.
